What are frameless glass office partitions?

Most office partitions are single-glazed with 10mm or 12mm toughened, or 12.8mm laminated, glass. Deflection heads let the partition move with the building, and doors can be frameless, framed aluminium or timber.

Where they work best

We most often fit frameless glass office partitions in private offices, reception walls, break-out zones and back offices. At the survey we'll look at the light, the way the space is used and the structure around the opening, and suggest a layout that works for it.

Building Regulations and safety

Glazing in critical locations must be safety glass, and large glass walls in offices need manifestation under Approved Document K. Leased offices usually need landlord consent — we supply drawings and specifications for your licence to alter.

How the job runs

We survey and measure, send a drawing and a fixed written price, then make your glazing to order — lead time is typically 3–4 weeks from survey, and a single office is often fitted in a day. On the day, floors are protected, the frame or track is fixed, the glass is set and sealed, and the space is cleaned before handover.

Questions about frameless glass office partitions

Can partitions be fitted out of hours?

Yes. Evening and weekend fitting is common in occupied offices so the working day isn't disrupted.

Will my landlord allow glass partitions?

Most leases need consent for alterations. We provide drawings, specifications and method statements to support your licence to alter.

Can partitions be moved later?

Track-fixed partitions can often be taken down and partly reused when you reconfigure, though the glass is cut to size.
