Internal windows and borrowed light in West Wales

About internal windows and borrowed light

Borrowed-light panels can be framed in slim steel-look profiles to match a screen or door, or set frameless into the plaster. Obscure glass keeps privacy where the window looks into a bathroom or bedroom. Full details on internal windows and borrowed light.

Internal windows and borrowed light for West Wales properties

Across West Wales we work in a real mix of properties — stone farmhouses, harbour-town cottages and chapel conversions. Each brings its own details: uneven floors in older houses, deep skirtings, solid or stud walls and ceilings that aren't quite square. We measure for all of it. Businesses here come to us as well, particularly small offices around Carmarthen and Aberystwyth.

Cost and lead time in West Wales

Expect roughly £450–£800 per m² plus VAT for internal windows and borrowed light, fitted. Size, glass type and doors move the figure most, and the survey gives you an exact fixed price. Survey slots across West Wales (SA, SY) are usually available within a week or two, and lead time is typically 3–5 weeks from survey.

Building Regulations and safety

Glass within 800mm of the floor must be safety glass. Cutting into a masonry wall may need a lintel and, if the wall is load-bearing, structural calculations; stud walls are usually straightforward.
