About fire-rated glazed screens
Fire-rated glazed screens are glass partitions and doors tested as complete systems to resist fire for a set time — usually 30 or 60 minutes — so corridors, stairwells and escape routes can stay light and open. Full details on fire-rated glazed screens.
Fire-rated glazed screens for Cumbria properties
Much of our Cumbria office work comes from offices in Carlisle and industrial sites around Barrow and West Cumbria. Landlord consent, out-of-hours access and building rules are part of the job, and we supply the drawings and method statements that go with them.
Cost and lead time in Cumbria
Expect roughly £850–£1,500 per m² plus VAT for fire-rated glazed screens, fitted. Size, glass type and doors move the figure most, and the survey gives you an exact fixed price. Surveys are booked across the CA, LA postcode areas. Lead time is typically 6–8 weeks from survey.
Building Regulations and safety
Fire performance only applies when a screen is installed exactly as tested. We specify the system at survey, supply the manufacturer's test evidence and labelling, and work with your Building Control body or fire risk assessor.
Questions from Cumbria customers
How much do fire-rated glazed screens cost in Cumbria?
As a guide, £850–£1,500 per m² plus VAT, supplied and fitted, with the fixed price confirmed after a free survey.
How long does it take to get fire-rated glazed screens fitted in Cumbria?
Lead time is typically 6–8 weeks from survey. We'll give you a firm date when you approve the drawing.
Can fire glass go into an existing frame?
Rarely. Fire ratings apply to tested frame-and-glass systems, so a standard frame with fire glass in it won't carry a rating.
