Internal glass balustrades in Ayrshire

About internal glass balustrades

Frameless systems hold the glass in a floor channel or with side-fixed clamps or standoffs; a top handrail can be added or left off, depending on the design and the glass specification. Full details on internal glass balustrades.

Internal glass balustrades for Ayrshire properties

Across Ayrshire we work in a real mix of properties — sandstone villas in Ayr and Troon and coastal homes along the Firth of Clyde. Each brings its own details: uneven floors in older houses, deep skirtings, solid or stud walls and ceilings that aren't quite square. We measure for all of it. On the commercial side, much of our Ayrshire work involves offices around Kilmarnock and Irvine.

Cost and lead time in Ayrshire

Guide pricing for internal glass balustrades in Ayrshire is £280–£520 per metre run plus VAT, including fitting — small jobs start from about £900. Whether you're in Kilmarnock or a village outside it, our surveyors cover KA postcodes — expect around 3–5 weeks from survey.

Building Regulations and safety

Guarding must meet Approved Document K for height and loading. In a house, guarding on stairs, landings and internal floor edges is generally at least 900mm high; in offices and other buildings, landings and mezzanine edges generally need 1100mm. Laminated glass keeps the barrier in place if a pane breaks.
